A Community-Based Developer with Deep Roots in the Neighborhood
Throughout the city and in Bernal Heights, BHNC’s Department of Housing Development leads the organization’s affordable public housing activity, including relocation services during renovations, and building management oversight and/or services. Whereas BHNC is the umbrella organization and employer of all Housing Development staff, as well Service Connection staff at some properties and all other community services, the Bernal Heights Housing Corporation (BHHC) is the entity that owns and operates the properties in its portfolio.
Housing stability is at the center of our work. Foundational to physical and social health as well as economic well-being, housing stability encompasses more than just preventing homelessness. It means providing safe, consistent, affordable homes and resources that prevent displacement.
